What does senior move coordination involve?
Senior move coordination is the planning and management of an older adult's move from a long-lived-in home into a smaller residence or senior living community. It covers the floor plan for the new home, pre-sort and downsize decisions, packing, mover coordination with full inventory tracking, and complete settle-in — bed made, kitchen functional, photos on the wall — before we leave. One team holds the whole sequence so the family is not coordinating four vendors.
How is this different from hiring a professional organizer?
An organizer improves how a space works. Coordination manages a transition from one home to another, including the parts that happen outside the house — the sale, the donations, the haulers, the timeline against a closing date. We do both, and we lead when leadership is what is missing.
Do I need to be there while you work?
No. A large share of our clients live out of state and take part by phone and photo. We can also work alongside you if being there matters, or alongside your parent at their pace. Either arrangement is normal.
How do you decide what to keep?
You decide. We run the Edit stage so that the decisions arrive one at a time, in a sensible order, with the easy ones first — which is what makes the hard ones possible. We never make a keep-or-release call on your behalf without asking.
Do you work with families who live out of state?
Yes, routinely. We handle the on-site work, send photos and updates on a rhythm you choose, and make it possible for adult children in other states to remain in the loop without having to fly in for every decision.

What It Costs & How Long It Takes

How much does it cost?
Every long-lived-in home is different. Project pricing is scoped in writing after a Working Assessment, which is $250. The Assessment produces a written plan with phases, sequence, timeline, and a Disposition Pathway for the contents. Costs vary with the size of the home, the volume, and how much of the work the family wants to keep.
What is the Working Assessment, exactly?
It is a consulting deliverable — not a fee for access to us. We walk the home, scope the work, and hand you a written plan you own. Hire us and it becomes the project plan. Hire someone else and give it to them. Do it yourselves and follow it.
How long does it take to clear a house?
Most whole-home clearings run between two and six weeks, depending on volume, the disposition strategy, and the family's decision speed. A closing date compresses that. A grieving family, appropriately, does not. The Working Assessment gives you a realistic timeline before you commit.
How soon can you start?
Urgent matters — a closing, a discharge, a probate deadline — are triaged immediately. Standard engagements typically begin within two to four weeks of the Working Assessment.
Are you insured and bonded?
Yes. Fully insured and bonded, with documentation available on request for attorneys, fiduciaries, and executors who need it on file.

What happens to the things nobody in the family wants?
Everything routes through our Disposition Pathway: Gift, Sell, Donate, Responsibly Dispose — in that order. Gifting to family comes first, then resale where there is real value, then donation to organizations we have relationships with, and only then disposal. Disposal means recycling and proper handling, not a dumpster by default.
How do you handle privacy and confidentiality?
We work in homes that hold significant wealth, irreplaceable collections, and deeply private histories. NDAs are signed as a matter of course. Financial documents, medical paperwork, and family history stay in the home. Our standard is not "professional" — it is invisible.
Who is your client when the family disagrees?
The senior is the client. Always. Even when adult children are paying. We protect their voice, their preferences, and their dignity — especially when family dynamics get loud.
What are your credentials?
Certified Professional After Loss Services (PALS) — specialists in grief-sensitive estate and transition work. Additionally credentialed through NAPO, ICD, and ECHM (UC Davis, formerly NASMM). 18+ years of work in Southern Colorado homes. Featured on Fox 21 and recurring on KRDO News Radio / ABC Affiliate.
What areas do you serve?
Colorado Springs, El Paso County, and the broader Front Range on-site. Statewide across Colorado. National virtual planning available for families outside our on-site region.
Is there anything you won't do?
Yes. We will not empty a house fast without regard for what goes where. We will not override a senior's stated wishes because an adult child is paying. And we will not take on a family we can already see we are not the right fit for — we will tell you honestly and point you to who is.
